Leadership truly lacks empathy, and transparency, even though they try and pretend that's important to them. From the top down within the division, it seems like communication is inconsistent, bias and single minded. Decisions seem to be made in a vacuum to benefit the GM's agenda. Things started to change for the worse when we had a disruption in sales leadership and the direction of the team started to shift. Even prior to that happening, it seemed like everything needed to be "approved" or "blessed" by the GM, which slowed down every process and decreased team moral and success.
We have recently had a significant turnover on the sales team, primary due to sales leadership changes as well as low pay. Salary and commission structures are significantly off compared to the industry standard and it seems like they continue to make changes each year that make it worse.
The telematic team is also struggling, which will greatly impact the rest of the organization. There are good people of the team, but they are under staffed and cant keep up with the growing demands. The products themselves have had their ups and downs, but it seems like things are starting to level out.
The overwhelming feeling on the sales team is that leadership doesn't care about them and does everything in their power to pinch pennies and maximize results. Middle mangers on the team are great, but there is a big disconnect from the top. Although there is no interaction with the GM, it seems like everyone walks on eggshells so they don't do something that would "get them in trouble" or "put them on his naughty list". Because of this, the team will continue to deteriorate.
