Pros

the children and families are great. You have paid in service days. centers are beautiful.

Cons

too much staff turnover! having a difficult time staffing classrooms. borrow from other centers just to be in ratio. lots of managerial gossip! there seems like there is no such thing as staff confidentiality. everyone knows your business. director directed from office rather than helped out in classroom. not a lot of support.

Pros

Co-teachers and the children were the only good thing about this company.

Cons

Don't mistake this place as a "school." It is a company and a business--only looking for money. They search for highly educated teachers with bachelor's and master's degrees andin return offer them pitiful pay. They have overcrowded classrooms and this prevents each child from receiving the best care. I watched 15 teachers get hired and then quit within a two year span. I followed shortly after. Corporate doesn't care about the individual centers or the individual teachers. We are all just pawns in their game to get more, more, more. I would never suggest that anyone attempt to get a job at U-GRO. And I would never suggest U-GRO to families. There are much better places to send your children who deserve far more than U-GRO could ever offer.

U-GRO Learning Centres Response

Thank you for your review! We willingly welcome feedback and are pleased to provide you with an honest, informative response. Here at U-GRO, our core focus is to empower families by providing a foundation for our students for success in both school and in life and we recognize that this would not be possible without the dedication of our phenomenal teachers. We strive to support our team members in every way possible, including industry-competitive pay, a wide variety of benefits, ongoing paid training, curriculum support, and much more! While non-profit organizations often receive funding from the government or other outside sources, as a privately owned company, we do not, therefore it is crucial that we remain fiscally responsible in order to continue to provide jobs for our team members and exceptional care for our families. Our goal is to provide competitive wages, which are regularly reviewed to ensure market competitiveness. This past year, we conducted an extensive market analysis of compensation in the early learning industry, and increased pay across the board to ensure we were meeting and even exceeding market standards. We are very proud of being able to do this for our team members, and the feedback we receive from new hires is often very positive in that they are being given the opportunity to make more than they did at their previous ECE employer. While fiscal responsibility is a priority, quality care, relationships and education are paramount. We follow strict ratio guidelines in accordance with the Department of Human Services (DHS) to ensure best-in-class care for our students and are legally restricted from overcrowding our classrooms. We hope you allow us the opportunity to discuss your feedback in greater detail so we may continue to grow and empower the families we serve. Please contact us at 717-561-2201. We thank you for your review and truly hope that you will find an employer that better aligns with your personal values.
