Pros

Being with the company for almost 5 years, I have found that the directors, district managers, and CEO want to know you as a person, by name, and make sure that you feel valued. When they can come into a center, greet you by name and push up their sleeves and help you in a classroom, that shows to me that what we do is important and if we are expected to complete a task then they should be able to do it as well.

Cons

The only con, and I feel it is across the board in the ECE field, is the pay is not as high as it should be. However, U-GRO does a something that no other company I have worked for does: provide you with "extra" money for each quarter you do not call off for the entire period. So although the pay is not as high, they reward you for showing up to work!

Pros

Hershey U-GRO has a strong, supportive and engaged director; a clean, attractive physical space with bright, cheery classrooms; a teamwork approach throughout the center; and, the ability to create caring and nurturing partnerships with our families. It's a pleasant, rewarding and happy place to teach!

Cons

As with any employer, more paid vacation time would be great!

Pros

Provides a safe, welcoming setting in which children can be free to learn and discover with their own curiosity, yet also has teachers who make the most of this natural curiosity to provide a learning environment that ultimately equips children for kindergarten and life beyond. This provides a work environment that fosters trust and happiness for employees and families.

Cons

Sometimes the financial side of running a business does not allow for enough time for staff to fully reach their potential in planning and implementing of curriculum.
