You won't reach your potential with U.S. Bank

Pros

It is a very stable company, especially in light of the recent financial crisis in the industry. I respect the CEO and much of what he has tried to implement in his tenure.

Cons

Top management policies, values and goals are not properly communicated to lower management or at least they certainly don't seem to be following them. Lower managers don't even seem like they've had any management training, as they treat employees poorly and break policies/regulation/laws/ethics regularly with regard to employee management. Career advancement is a joke for most of us and pay is below average. Benefits are bad and getting worse and the only perks are small discounts on bank fees.

Pros

Good place to break into industry, learned a lot about banking, made some good contacts, liked quite a few of the people I worked with, and overall enjoyed the experience

Cons

Large amount of work, high expectations, management did not provide all the tools necessary to reach expectations, and occasional mandatory overtime (not much, but just added to the feeling of an overwhelming work-load)

Pros

health insurance is okay-ish. thats all

Cons

We are scheduled for 45 hours a week, paid for 40, and then made to take 5 hours in breaks, where we are not allowed to leave the branch. We were told by HR that we should clock out and then go sit in the back room for our breaks. We are not allowed to leave, but we aren't getting pay. Most recently, we have been told to incorrectly report time (if you get here at 9:58, write 10:00 so no overtime) and clock out for our paid 15 minute breaks. They took mandatory 5% of our pay in these difficult times.
