Pros

In field workers are supportive of one another

Cons

No on site guidance . Retention is low. Facility has an active bed bug infestation and very little is being done to address it . Case managers are expected to arrive 5 am or earlier on clean up days and help clients with lesser capacity move items.

Difficult to do my job

Pros

I did enjoy working with many of the staff, especially my colleagues at our sister site in Kapolei.

Cons

Was never able to really do my job as I spent a lot of time on "other duties as assigned." One of the harshest things was the cutting of our 501K match and no raises for one year for all of staff. I had literally started the job, with the benefits in mind, when they announced cutting of the benefits. The mission was great, although a little misleading. I worked at the Waianae location, but they only had a couple veterans there out of 150 homeless people. Literally about 4-5 veterans.
