Pros

The work is important and being a veteran myself it was near and dear to my heart. The people I worked with were great and I enjoyed my job

Cons

I felt like I was punished for working there. PTO and sick time were ridiculously low, health insurance (not including dental or vision) was unaffordable compared to my salary, 401k didn't even start until after 1 year of working there, and there were no incentives or rewards for hard work.

Pros

It's an organization that assists homeless veterans, most of which suffer from some sort of substance abuse and or mental disorders. The atmosphere is over all casual and everyone seem to actually be genuinely interested in helping Vets.

Cons

Lack of communication between staff which then result in wasted time or efforts. Too casual at times. Some staff can be unprofessional because of that. Need more accountability.
