Pros

Awesome building with hi-tech equipment. My lab is amazing with huge glass windows looking out over the campus. Nice gym with plenty of equipment and never overcrowded. I have an awesome and understanding advisor that is always available.

Cons

The town has almost no night life and the common attitude among most residents is still sort of a farm town. The heat is intense in the summer it has been over 105 for the past week. Lots of construction happening around campus. Not very well known or prestigious (but this will change one day)

There are young faculty and staff who share the same excitement in working for a new and growing university. Rewarding place to work.

Cons

Being a new campus and not having as many resources as other campuses, the pay is not comparable. There is nothing to do in Merced.
