Pros

Great place to gain experience and learn. People are friendly, helpful, professional, and can be goofy. Upper management are professional and friendly as well.

Cons

There isn't much to be said but, more space is needed for staff and storage.

Pros

I worked at UC Merced from 2004-2008. Being there for the grand opening, watching the campus grow, and most of all getting to know the pioneering students, were transformative professional experiences. My co-workers were all similarly invested in the campus' success. It was a positive atmosphere with great morale and spirit.

Cons

As with any startup, you have to wear a lot of hats and put in a lot of time and personal energy. This is likely to change somewhat as the campus grows - and that can be both good and bad. In the early days, we missed out on some benefits like having on-campus child care.
