Pros

The people are UCLA Health's greatest asset - wonderfully intelligent and kind workforce Good health care benefits Commendable mission

Cons

Unsurprisingly bureaucratic and political Trench between Health System and School of Medicine is harming the overall health of the organization HR policies make it difficult to reward high achieving staff Continue to pay against years of experience rather than skill and ability which makes it difficult to reward and retain high achieving early careerists

Pros

- Steady job with a Union to back you. - Decent wage for the job. - Health insurance and dental. - The ability to connect with other due to patient care. - The ability to work from home during the pandemic.

Cons

- It’s all about who you know for advancement. - Incredible amounts of micromanaging that don’t quite make sense when trying to achieve accurate and kind patient care. - Management does not care about both patients or their employees. - Having never been told while working there that you have done anything good for the company or thank you.

Pros

Good benefits, healthcare, PTO, sick time, and 401k. Fairly good job security since it is a union position.

Cons

There is no career advancement at all. People stay at this position because it is secure but there are no incentives for working harder. Supervisor positions are rarely available and you will be at the same level whether you have been working there for 10 years or newly hired. Micromanaging is a huge issue. Management wants to make sure you are working every minute of every hour without any regard to personal life or a pandemic. They treat employees like robots instead of individuals. Zero company culture. Socializing even before the pandemic was strongly discouraged. Salary is ok without almost no increases.
