Great Company - Each plant/facility operates independently

Pros

Great benefits (medical/dental/vision); opportunity to move to different plants in different states; my plant management is fair and don't micro-management; company is big on bonus than salary (for salaried-supervisor employees); Great company culture; Management will not hold you back from moving up; After hours company events are fun;

Cons

Office/Corporate politics like any other company - you must "get around" and not rely on your added value and good work ethic; Management job postings (internal) are only posted for courtesy - those positions are already filled; Hourly employees have a "point system" so you can get penalized for being 1 minute late and not showing up to work; Vacation is not the best when compared to most companies - only 5 days for the first year; Nothing is ever confidential when speaking to corporate HR or plant management about issues - just don't have any issues and you will be fine.

Sales Trainee

Pros

Great salary, benefits, car reimbursement and cell phone.

Cons

They hire sales trainee's to come in and hopefully move their way up, but then use them for "b.s. work". I was in the program for 8 months learning the ins and out of UFP and how day to day sales works, but was ultimately let go due to lack of profit at the plant. I would recommend going into an interview asking them a lot of questions on what you will be doing and for how long. The sales trainee program is so unorganized that not even the plant managers to the full structure of the process.
