My team was amazing. I genuinely met some of the smartest people I've ever known. It was great to work alongside them and to grow with them.

UKG was an interesting place to work. I had my hands on a lot of tools and services. I was hired during a turnover, so at the time I wore many hats and extinguished many flames that were previously handled by SREs and DBAs until we could re-hire them and transition those duties, little did I know this was the first red flag. I sensed something was wrong when I was asked to start interviewing new recruits in India for the same job titles as mine and my colleagues. It felt like a warning sign. Then, they threatened to fire me if I didn't return to the office from remote work, even though I was already going in regularly. It was like the point of RTO was simply to pressure us to quit. The toxicity and mismanagement from upper management were unbearable. So, I left. Seeing the mass layoffs now, I can’t say I’m surprised. It was only a matter of time.
