Pros

Perfect job for a student Pay is good Can be very physically demanding (can be a pro or con depending on your POV)

Cons

Unfortunately, in the buildings I worked in, at least 60% of my coworkers were participation trophy kind of people. No promotion based on performance or work ethic. It’s all done based on seniority. Some drivers will intentionally drag out their work days to file grievances and to hit there max DOT hours by Friday to have a shortened day leaving everyone else to pick up the slack. Very little accountability for employees. I’ve had multiple coworkers “go to the bathroom,” and be gone for 30-40 minutes on a daily basis. Leaving people that work hard to do the extra work. The write up process/termination process needs reviewed and changed. Supervisors shouldn’t have to give a verbal and then a written warning to an adult before issuing a warning letter for showing up late.
