Pros

Stability and consistency are advantages here. While the total compensation is not as competitive as other firms, layoffs are almost unheard of and many people work here their whole career.

Cons

Total Compensation is competitive with other large corporations. However, management bonuses make up a much larger percentage (34% bonus for mgrs, and for 17% sups) of your total compensation then average . At first this sounds like a good thing, but half of your bonus is frozen for five years while the half you get is taxed at a high rate. Also, remember that Total Compensation is in line with other companies means you get less money in your pocket. Essentially what UPS is able to do is shift your compensation into your bonus which they can defer till the end of the year for the first half, and out five more years for the second half.

Pros

Good pay, good experience, great training

Cons

No work-life balance whatsoever, average day is 13 hours making the pay seem like its very little for the hours that are put in. Constant arguing and contradictions from management and very difficult to manage for results with union contract obligations. Your input is not valued even for your direct reports, your management team won't listen. If you make these people mad, they will make your life as difficult as possible until you quit.
