Pros

You have the entire day, free to do what you want if you work the sunrise (morning shift). Benefits for all employees not hired as holiday only.

Cons

Complete and utter abuse if you are a seasonal holiday hire. Stockholm Syndrome affects 95% of those that stick around more than a year and you become blind that the rest of the world has surpassed what you consider "great pay". Only one path of advancement. If you are even granted it -- they will consider you dead if you turn them down to pursue a different internal career path. Basically, never say no. Even if it affects your health or personal life.

Pros

I've compared UPS's salaries for my role to other companies of equal status, and I'm seeing 5-10k gaps per year with UPS paying more. Strong brand name, which makes it hard to move on from to a medium or smaller company. Bonus incentive. Discounted Stock program. 401k match. Good insurance package varieties. Flexible working hours depending on department. Degree repayment with a commitment of 5 years afterwards (double edge sword).

Cons

No real incentives, such as free shipping or deeper shipping discounts. Management gets pulled during holiday peak to work in warehouses around the U.S. (pro for some). No real advancement opportunities. High turnover in F&A departments. No casual Friday's and business casual all the time (con for me). The move from Supervisor (low level management) to Manager is impossible and taboo if it happens within a year or two from being promoted to Supervisor.
