Pros

Being a logistics professional for a worldwide leader in the industry. This looks good on your resume. You can meet all kinds of people and be exposed to various types of industries.

Cons

Management is expected to work no less than 10 hours per day. Your work schedule can change instantaneously because it's a 24 hour operation and management does not care if you have responsibilities to your family or children. It's the employee's problem. Stress levels of management are significant enough to cause health issues like high blood pressure and stroke. The divorce rate amongst management employees is very high. Management employees are underpaid in comparison with other industries with similar roles. Although the company brags about 'Safety First' they have been known to put management employees in harm’s way during natural disasters so packages can be delivered. Operations management rarely chooses its own career path. The company places you where there is a need. The slogan 'we promote from within' has proven to be incorrect in some instances. Well-educated with several degrees plus on the job experience with accolades employees have been continuously passed up for various opportunities. In one instance, the hiring manager chose to hire a newly degreed college student with no experience who is not loyal to the company and paid them more than the tenured employee.

Pros

Good benefits. guarantee of 27 hours work a week at minimum. Very physical work, so you will stay in shape. Very task oriented work, have to know how to juggle problems and make good, quick decisions.

Cons

You get blamed for everything, regardless of how well you do your job, makes it hard to try and go above and beyond your duties when you arent recognized for it. I.E. getting done early, filling out all your paper work on time, getting more scan checks than required. Constantly harassed by both upper management and drivers/loaders for every little mistake; even if its not your fault. An air goes missing, a package breaks open and spills, or a loader goes over his max time because he wants to help are all things you will be blamed for making it hard to stay motivated to your job and help your team of loaders stay focused and get done.

Pros

Teamwork is authentically practiced in Massman Hub, Nashville, TN. If you suit up and show up every day, you will be rewarded over time. It can be quicker to build trust than most companies. You really rely on supervisors for guidance and coworkers to help each other load packages well. This company is forward thinking, but experiences setbacks in the global business sector.

Cons

Hard work. No way around it. It hurts when you get home after lifting over 1,000 packages a night. Joints and muscles will ache. Go buy some good gloves for lifting, and some ibuprofen because these things are necessities.
