Pros

well known company, good benefits, anywhere outside of inside sales you are treated well (hearsay) quick promotions if you are willing to move

Cons

anyone willing to move gets the promotions, micromanagement, multiple things to do in a short period of time, archaic systems, micromanagement, old school company, unattainable goals, micromanagement, terrible work environment, minimal pay, unknown factors for quarterly incentive pay, raises are not structured on performance, did i mention micromanagement?

Pros

$9 an hour in California keeps you in shape, lots of running around, but once you get used to it, it'll be a walk in the park. You get you to use the DIAD. Even if you are no longer employed by ups, add the job to your resume and you'll be employed by another business in less than a month! That says a lot about the company and I'm glad I worked there!!

Cons

minimum to no rest time, get used to hearing *BARK* *BARK* *BARK*. Dogs are everywhere, some even chase you. One time a dog knocked down the screen door and chased me!!!

Pros

A challenging and highly competitive work environment that forces you to think outside of the box to solve problems. If you're a hard worker this compnay is for you. When I say hard worker I mean it. If you don't have some blue collar blood in you then you won't make in this environment no matter what side of the workforce you're on (management or union). UPS offers good pay and benefits, the opportunity to advance to higher positions within the company to create a fulfilling career, and you can't beat the job security. If you reach fulltime status in this company and can pull your weight you'll have a good secure job for the rest of your life.

Cons

You'll work more hours then you ever have anywhere else and those hours won't be spent at a desk. The environment can be hectic as the entire operation obviously runs to meet strict deadlines and operational goals need to be met daily. Some people find the high pressure too stressful. That's all up to the individual and it comes down to what your made of. Biggest con is that even though there is opportunity to advance it takes forever to do so. Way to long to get full time status within the compnay and upper management have a habit of leaving promotional candidates floating in purgatory for months and sometime years before they finally promote.
