Pros

Great Pay Great Benefits Paid Vacations As an hourly I was making $12 an hour with full benefits and 3 weeks of paid vacation. As a Supervisor I was making $15 an hour with 3 weeks of paid vacation, and only had to pay a small amount for benefits.

Cons

Treated poorly Only one shift Dirty If you talk to a loader/unloader they will try and tell you how badly they have it because management treats them poorly. Its mostly a lie. I was a loader/pick off for 4 years before I went into management, and I was treated far worse as a supervisor then an hourly. a lot of the supervisors just suck it up and take it without saying anything, but it was pretty bad. You work the same shift everyday, so don't come into work one day asking if you can work a different shift next week then go back the week after that. I have worked in 2 different UPS warehouses, and both were caked in dust. No lie I can breathe a lot better now that I don't walk into a dust box everyday. I think the Orlando hub opened in 1983, and it looks like it hasn't been cleaned since 1983. Be prepared to come home, blow your nose and have dust come out.

Pros

For me there was really no pros about this job. I'm thinking.............Nope none that I can think of. oh maybe one.. if your young and don't mind hard work and being talked to like crap..then yeah this is for you.

Cons

Where do I start. I work as a part time pre loader for almost six months..six months too long but I had to do what I had to do at the time. They are quick to hire without a drug test or back ground check, because they just want someone to work. I worked from 5am to 9am. Worst job ever and I say that because it was all about numbers. they work you like a slave and talk to you like one too. You have to load the brown truck by taking packages off of this conveyor belt. the packages come in no order for the trucks you're loading..you just have to pick you packages out of the bunch. The belt moves at a speed that the human person can not keep up with. I had four trucks to load. So you have to take the boxes from the belt then put them on the truck then come back out and and grab the box for the next truck and so on and so on. not impossible but at UPS it is. Then the whole time they(supervisors) are yelling at you to get the boxes on the right truck right no.. cause you dnt dare get a mislead (wrong package on the wrong truck) cause you will be hounded the whole shift. I recently quit this week..cause I had had enough. I could go on and on about this awful place of business but It would be a book. you dnt get paid for the work you do by any means what so ever. I say stay away if you can.. This job was my last resort and the only reason I took it.

Pros

After 25 years in Management you get 6 weeks of vacation

Cons

1.Management can't take vacations when they want. Only when company wants them to. 2.Union gets their health benefits, Management has to pay for theirs...increases every year. 3.Management no longer receives retirement, Union employees still do. 4.Management required to work a minimum of a 10 hour day with no lunch or breaks More comonly 12 to 16 hours. FT teamsters receive time and half after 8 hours and an additional 20 minute paid break after 10. 5. UPS will preach Safety, but the only reason it's pushed so hard is because of the cost of being self insured. 6. Recently cut the management ranks signifacntly. When people quit or retire, they are not replaced. 7.Very top heavy in upper management. 8. Rank and File management feel the Partnership Legacy that UPS always totes is long gone. 9. Conference Calls are all norm. No one ever gets trained properly. Just take a CBT or listen on a Conference Call. Too many folks doing the calls have never done what they are asking you to do.
