NOT what they portray!

Pros

Pay is pretty good, but that's about it.

Cons

STRESS! Before I was offered the job, I was told that we would do 75 charts a day and maintain 96% accuracy, then we could set our own hours. NOT the case. Production expectations rose, and rose. I hear that it is 225 charts a day, before we can change our hours. When you don't reach production in a week, you get an email, telling you to call them. It's not good.

Liar Liar Pants on Fire! APPs Run For It!

Pros

They make leaving an easy choice.

Cons

Sweet talked the APP group into what a "great deal" this would be for them. "We're gonna be the company all the APPs want to work for." "We're all about work-life balance." BUT THEN: 1. Removal of paid vacation AND paid sick leave. 2. Retirement reduced to 3%. 3. The "free" health care plan is high deductible. 4. Require THREE MONTHS notice. 5. Model going forward increases the number of APPs, who see more complicated patients, while worsening MD/DO:APP ratio: Practicing medicine is becoming dangerous, and very unsatisfying with US Acute Care Solutions. 6. When asked about the loss of PTO for APPs, management replied that was the industry standard, while APP organizations' data reveal 92% of EM APPs have PTO. There's your standard. They replied that it would cost $5M to give APPs PTO, and that was too expensive. Really. 7. The MD APP manager is "replaced" by an APP at the site to be their mouthpiece.

Closed Office - No Holiday Pay

Pros

401k is great and the options for healthcare are good. Short-term disability leave is paid 100%.

Cons

They close the office on Friday after Thanksgiving and on Christmas Eve and then make hourly employees use their PTO in order to be paid. There is no option to work and there is no holiday pay. There is only 6 paid holidays with limited PTO to make up for it.
