Toxicity and Nepotism

Pros

-Pay is reasonable -Work from home (most of the time)

Cons

-Management may decide to drop you at any moment in order to replace you with a former colleague. They will drag you along through every HR-mandated checkbox to make sure you're terminated by the books. It doesn't matter how hard you work. Their mind is already made up. -Very little implementation. Management had no plan to explain procedures or expectations. Instead, they just told me to "play around in the system" and then did not utilize me for months. When I requested additional training, (since I had received little to none,) my manager sent me a very passive aggressive email, criticizing me for not working hard enough when I was constantly asking if there was anything I could help with and being told no. My manager also criticized me for taking time off for a previously scheduled vacation that he had okayed on the first day. -You would think that an Anesthesia company would have good benefits, but they really do not. -Processes for my department are much more complicated and time-consuming then they need to be

Pros

I honestly can say that I have never felt more "at home" with working with USAP. They truly understand the work/life balance and they work with their employees in all situations. They recognize your work ethic and just a positive atmosphere!

Cons

None at the moment. Very fast pace, but not a con for me :)

Nepotism runs rampant, lack of diversity

Pros

Good healthcare and static work hours.

Cons

Nepotism runs rampant and unchecked at USAP. A large majority of my coworkers are people who knew each other outside of work prior to working together. Daughters, cousins, friends of friends - so on and so forth. Normally this isn't all that big of a problem but given the large amount of turnover I've personally witnessed, one begins to wonder just how long ago USAP became content with sacrificing quality for the sake of comradery. This extends beyond just the "ground floor" and has reached the management level. It begins to make you question whether or not you would even get a fair shake at a promotion if you aren't buddies with the "right" people outside of work. I would estimate that more than 80% of my coworkers are of Latin-American descent. Although I do belong to this group as well, I've personally spoken to coworkers who do not belong to this group that have confided in me that they do worry about being treated differently than the rest of their colleagues by management. It doesn't take much looking around to see the forest for the trees at USAP.
