Most attendings are ok to work with

Cons

-Horrible, unfair scheduling for W2 staff. No appreciation shown for long term staff. Lots of bad areas to end up in this hospital such as main endo, CIE, Rad. Residents are given the easiest/best rooms -Often bounced around to different OR’s and parts of hospital at last minute notice. Or sometimes they run flip rooms with 1 anesthesia person -Some doctors think having 5-10mins in between cases is your lunch break. Do not expect full 30 mins lunch here, it will not happen. Morning breaks are not common either -Expect to work every minute of the day because the doctors only make money when the crna is in a room billing -doctors never cancel cases even for the sickest, non-optimized patients because they need to bill -not uncommon to leave late. (usually not more than 10-15 minutes late though). Every now and then the attending would ghost when my shift was supposed to end and I would get stuck for 30 mins to an hour with no apology -They started scheduling staff for 12 hour shifts on holidays and weekends even though you already work 40+ hrs during week -holiday shifts do not count towards your 40 hrs so you might work every single day Christmas week for example -Early starts are 30 minute mandatory overtime. So extends your shift. You get paid yes but I don’t want to work more than my shift time. They would do this 2+ times a week -Ecpect to get burned out here. The model is churn and burn. Constant turnover of staff -Lounge food is bad. -Low weekend and holiday pay -Docs play favorites who goes home first etc -Management crna’s only care about sucking up to the partner doctors -Extremely sick patient population, many ASA 4’s and quick turnovers -could not wait to leave this hospital -Pay far below Atlanta and other markets

profit sharing level 1 trauma center complex cases flexible schedule options shift work

Cons

Many MDAs are hard to work with, don't respect CRNAs at all, micromanage when they want, go MIA when they want. Very MD led company making millions off the back of CRNAs. Will run CRNAs into the ground so the MDAs can get more money and more "points"
