Pros

Working on the nation's highest priority military and foreign policy issues, providing many with first hand experience working the issues.

Cons

Abysmal senior leadership. Lack of vision, wasteful spending on projects with dubious value. No regard to the needs of the workforce, and doing things that are not in alignment with national security priorities.

Pros

Getting a foot in the door in federal government. Job benefits. Interesting work. Occasional opportunities to travel. Great professional experience.

Cons

Absolutely untrained, unmotivated front line supervisors so busy managing up they forget to lead. Tendency to run lower level ragged or leaving them stagnant...no productive in between.
