Pros

At first the pay seemed great. But after experiencing the stress, backbiting, cut throat enviroment, its not nearly enough for what you have to endure from management

Cons

There was no training to speak of. One day to ride along - next day 1/2 route and the following day the other 1/2. Then you are on your own. And I mean literally. I was'nt given a map or line of travel -had to beg for that. You are expected to know how to case and deliver like carriers who have been there for 18-20 years- but you have days to do it. I should have known something was wrong when the people who have worked together for 20 years would'nt speak to each other. Totally misearble place to work. I understand now why they cannot keep drivers.

Pros

Money, lots of hours plus overtime, satisfaction of emptying your truck. Satisfaction of serving the community. Working independently for the most part.

Cons

Physically taxing as expected, much more psychologically taxing and stressful than it needs to be. No flexibility, as in the overtime is NOT optional. No days off or repetition when you first get hired (as a CCA ) and constantly being told you might get fired even after you make regular. Unreasonable expectations, lots of variables from day to day with NO concessions for those varriables.
