Pros

The pay is better than most. i was able to work 40+ hours per week .

Cons

The union have a contract with the USPS were all holiday term PSE and PSE MUST work 12 hours on holidays... for me that 12 hours started at 12pm-12am... little did i know i would be spending my entire Thanksgiving,Christmas and New Years at the plant.. you will not get sent home early on the holidays even though theres nothing for you to do.. the regulars that were forced in would be sent home before you even though you are 9 hours into your shift and they are only 2 hour into theirs. what makes it even worse. NO HOLIDAY PAY. management will tell you 5-10 minutes before your shift is almost over.. YOU MUST STAY TWO EXTRA HOURS OVER. PLUS COME IN TWO EXTRA HOURS EARLY. they treat all PSE and Causal like they do not have a life outside of life.. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS JOB TO ANYONE WITH GRADE SCHOOL KIDS.

CCA stress...

Pros

The best things about working here are guaranteed hours (at least in my office) and lots of OT. The regulars are all really nice.

Cons

Where shall I begin with the cons? First off, terrible scheduling! As a CCA (even if you are holding down a route) your schedule could be changed daily. I have been working for the post office since April 2014 and I have never had two consecutive days off. I just finished working 10 straight days leading up to Christmas and that was exhausting. Many people notate the pay as a pro but I think it's a con. $15.30 an hour isn't much considering the high stress levels and crappy schedule we have. Benefits, none. If you are a new CCA and want to become a regular, look at how many CCA's in your office are more senior to you and basically add a year or two for each one.

Pros

Co-workers are nice. Pay is okay, but not enough considering how hard you will work. Will get a lot of hours if you are into that sort of thing.

Cons

Working 7 days a week, 10 hours a day, even on Sunday. On Sunday I was told to come in at 7:30, when get there the computer system for organizing packages isn't working so they will not be ready until 9, go case the mail until then. At 9 they tell us it won't be ready until 11. Finally ready at 11, it is my first time doing Sunday delivery but the manager gives me no directions, just here are your packages and a print out of what packages you have. Doesn't mention that there is a glitch in the system still and that there are many packages on my list that are duplicates. Gives me a package for a different route that is about twenty miles away, doesn't matter everything has to be delivered no matter what. Get off at 5pm at what was supposed to be a half day. Every other day super stressful. Will give you a route you have never done and expect you to case it and then deliver it. Will get frustrated at you that it is taking you until 12 to case the mail because you have no idea what the route is. Worked 10 days in a row, only got Thanksgiving off. Management takes off four days but you will get 1 only if it is a national holiday,(only Christmas and Thanksgiving) and they will cancel all your other days off, sometimes the day before. They will give you so much work you will not be able to take even a 10 minute break. You may be working 11 hours sometimes without a break. Yet no matter how hard you work, how well you are doing it is never enough, they will still call and harass you all day, slowing you down even more, just to complain about all the things you are not doing right, which will be a lot because there is so much to remember. It takes a long time to remember it all, not just six weeks, when you had barely any training. They will give you very little directions for a route you have never done and it can be very confusing trying to figure out which way to go. They do not have enough staff because they chase them all away and they will take this out on you.
