Pros

All depends on your stations managment. If you get placed in a station with good management, then you'll be happy. if not, they'll make you miserable. Good pay (lots of overtime), get to be outdoors, really not a hard job, management (some) are rewarding. Coworkers are nice/helpful

Cons

I've heard some real horror stories about some management... Pay cuts, Financial situation, no idea when you can get a career position.

Pros

Current senior management is very smart and very competent. Yes, we're in a bad place financially right now, but there are viable, long-term solutions on the table. Congress is clearly the road block at this point.

Cons

Not many cons to working here. Public perception is very out of whack with reality though, and it is sometimes tough to stay positive while "they" throw uniformed opinions and inaccurate facts around about our company.
