Pros

If all you knew was the military. If all you know is how to follow unquestionably. Then this is for you! They talk a big game about speaking up, but really just show up and shut up.

Cons

You have to drink the coolaid. USAA regularly takes the time as a corporation to both sniff fighter jet exhaust fumes as well as the fumes coming out it’s own posterior. You get paid less than industry average, internal promotions are rare, and the management system ensures one or two bad eggs can spoil an entire division.

Toxic executive leadership

Pros

Good Salary and bonus structure

Cons

Executive Leadership talks about healthy challenge but the moment you provide a challenge to them they make you life a living hell. The others that just coast and do as they are told continue to be promoted. The environment is just toxic with a lot of people ending their everyday crying. The CEO Wayne Peacock requires everyone to call him “sir”. To top it all off the CHRO Pat Teague has no empathy for people, and doesn’t care to know anything about the business of HR. Everyone is just in selfish survival mode instead of helping each other. It’s sad that these executives have just let this great company culture be destroyed for their personal gain.

Pros

The only thing I can think of is the Benefits

Cons

Workload and metrics is unrealistic. Extreme micromanagement. Zero work life balance. Very poor communication when change takes place. Absolutely no growth. You have to leave the company if you want to move up in the industry.
