Pros

The pay is better or on par for most banks. The benefits package is good. They provide lots of opportunities for training.

Cons

You must surround yourself with the people with the power and run in the right circles to get promoted. Promotion can be subjective, and you have to have a large project or something that is OKR level. The benefits have decreased over the last couple of years. The health insurance offering is half of what it used to be. There is a lot of nepotism at USAA. They have removed the work-from-home option and are forcing everyone back into the office. The culture is not a good fit for everyone.

Pros

Benefits and PTO package are the only pros anymore.

Cons

Phasing out remote work even for those WFH prior to pandemic. Culture of fear where no one wants to speak up. Cut in bonus.
