Pros
Co workers, you get a paycheck, benefits and working from home
Cons
USAA has by far been the worst job for me. They tell you that you can move anywhere in the company but then once you get into it, that’s not even the case. They said ‘it’s up to you in what you make of it within the company’ so of course I worked hard to meet metrics, utilized their education program to get my MBA, Six sigma and data analytics certifications, did rotations and when I tried to get a permanent position outside of the call center, it was nearly impossible. They would always say something like ‘the answers you gave didn’t paint the picture’ or ‘you didn’t tell how what you did could be apply to the role you’re applying’ or ‘you need more context’. It’s like you have to be a mind reader and tell them exactly what they want to hear and be perfect in your interview in order to get the job outside of the call center because it doesn’t matter how qualified you are, they weigh everything on the interview which is just not a culture for me knowing this company was based off military officers. When you’re in the military, the job is based on a point system of time of service, basic education requirements, knowledge, etc. the interview is rated low on that scale compared to the other requirements and this is not the case with USAA
