Pros

Good benefits, quality employees, cafeteria on site

Cons

Call center environment, not a lot of products options to offer clients for investments. Metrics change frequently and in mid year which make it difficult to run a book of business. Treat employees like children. They changed the wealth manager compensation package and reduced by 2/3. They changed it because they don't have the software program to track assets that a wealth manager brought in for the year. So assets coming in the door don't matter only products you sell. Once you get all the products you can out of a member, they are now dead weight. Recently took away the wealth specialist role which helped the wealth manager manage the book and on service issues. Now you have to tell your 10 million dollar client to call an 800 number and talk to someone they never have spoken to for service request. Have limited sales material and presentation material. All recommendations are cookie cutter. They don't allow CFP's to make recommendations on non USAA mutual funds or even on a members 401k plan.

Pros

Great benefits. Pay is ok. Great values. Great members/customers (for the most part). Covered parking. Onsite cafeteria and nurse

Cons

If you're on the phones (90% of employees are), then get ready for back to back calls the whole day. People call for service and you have to sell them a new product or get them transferred to a financial advisor... They track every single time you "offer" something and when you don't either... It's become a numbers game... I can no longer say after 4 years that mermbers are #1 priority... it's all about the numbers now --- ALSO, very hard to move out of your current position to a non-phone position. Who wants to be on the phones for 10 years???
