Pros

Company truck, work mostly on your own and set your own schedule, one month paid training, great benefits package.

Cons

Insane hours. Mandatory insane hours. 10-12 hours a day minimum, 6 days a week, often 7 days a week, plus on-call days. Constantly, all the time, working in the elements. No experience in the company. Their turnover rate is higher than the fast food industry. The most senior person in my crew had been there a little over a year.

We have recently added a large number of technicians and have plans to add additional technicians as needed. We are continually improving our training program, as well. We believe these changes will lead to less turnover and create a better working environment and better work/life balance for our technicians.

Pros

Paycheck, usually work alone. Lots of email from the company, lots of advice. Lots of corporate lip service concerning "safety" and quality locates. Plenty of suggestions, many answers and your day can last al long as you need it to, so that the jobs get done.

Cons

The emails and spoken word are a set-up, you know: "I told you so..." this keeps the blame localized to the lowest level (the locator). On call time is not paid. You are given a truck to use and the truck is your responsibility 24 hours a day, whether you are on the job or the truck is off-duty, taking up space in your driveway.
