Pros

Some fine co-workers, down in the trenches. An abundance of available, dirty outhouses on construction sites. Managers and supervisors who are happy to give opinion. Really new company vehicles to use, but don't idle with the air conditioner or heater while logging results, eating lunch or talking business on the company supplied cell phone. USIC is fully supportive of personal friends.

Cons

Finger of blame safety program. Finger of blame quality locate program. If one is to quit, don't give notice, you will be asked to leave immediately. Find medical and dental professionals who are available evenings. Plan on the working conditions affecting your quality of life, away from work. After you have quit, it will take some time to get over having worked at USIC.

Pros

The day goes by really fast TN due to the heavy workload. Company vehicle provided at a small fee.

Cons

In training class you're taught to hook to every utility to locate it. In the field a lot of the utilities require manhole access which appears to be something they avoid opening to allow access so you're told to power mode or sling paint to cover your butt. They monitor your vehicle which is fine, but you're not allowed to idle while clocked into a ticket which means you're stuck in an extremely hot truck while you wait for prints and or photos to load on a slow computer which is only made slower by the heat. You would think since the pay is not that great you would at least be allowed to stay as cool when you have to be in the truck.
