Pros

Opportunity to learn, most employees are friendly, and benefits (vacation and sick time, insurance) are reasonable. UTH is trying to implement a career path for Administrative Staff, other positions are in the pipeline, supposedly.

Cons

Pay is not competitive with other institutions in the TMC. Limited opportunities for advancement. Contract parking in the TMC is expensive and increases yearly. Evaluations are based solely on supervisor's input and if you "meet expectation" or above you can get a 1-4% raise.

Pros

Good people, job has a purpose in furthering healthcare and higher education.

Cons

Upper manager within the area I worked in was timid. They refused to stand up for what they new was right and constantly allowed other areas of management to beat them down. Changing environment from higher education in healthcare focus to clinical care is being done poorly. Upper management is not experienced in this area and is being pushed into areas and deals they are no prepared.
