Overall great experience, watch out for management
Pros
Benefits are great, especially if you are single. Work environment is comfortable for the most part. Diverse co workers are one of the best parts of the job. It definitely reflects the city of Houston because staff are from all cultures and walks of life.
Cons
Upper management can be very two faced. It really depends on who your supervisor is which can be a mixed bag. Work politics are an issue at every job but there can be a problem with miscommunication and cattiness between supervisors. Two of my supervisors seemed to dislike each other and often gave conflicting information about the same projects or daily tasks making it difficult to know who to listen to. Pay is okay for someone starting out but the benefits make it comparable to other companies. Parking is a nightmare and expensive. Take the metro to work if you can. Construction is a constant issue and contributes to the issue of traffic.
