UTP rampant disrespect and sexism

Pros

Literally, nothing was a pro at UTP.

Cons

UTP is a dreadful place to work. Because UTP is a physician-led organization, doctors do whatever they want, which in my experience included overt sexism: doctors would look at my breasts and butt and continue to do so even when I confronted them. Two of the doctors advised that we hire "more attractive women" for the front desk. The doctors and executives who support them treat clinical support employees with abhorrence. You simply don't matter if you aren't a doctor. Patients at UT are allowed to treat doctors and support personnel like garbage. I was reprimanded after a patient assaulted me physically and verbally. The pay is far less than market rates. Stay away - as a patient and employee.

Pros

Professors in the School of Public are nice. The workload as a TA isn't heavy. There can be a work-study-life balance.

Cons

As a Ph.D. student working as a TA, the pay is below average. It's even hard to survive with this money.
