      Pros

      Discount on products including prestige makeup and salon services. Decent pay. Great training materials created at corporate level, however given almost no time to realistically utilize them in the store.

      Cons

      Where to start very challenging big box atmosphere that pretends to be a specialty store. Extremely high staff turnover due to impossible work load. Huge stores with often just 2 people working at once on retail floor. Managers end up running a register for a large part of the day. Low stock levels in smaller stores make unhappy customers. Extremely high theft.

      Watching the ever evolving world of beauty

      Not much except the fact that they do alot of temp hire and don't include them in the quote "ulta family" even though temps are hired to do all the excess the employees there don't due.

      It's a fun, fast-paced industry to work in.

      Cons

      Customer experience is not woven into the fabric of this organization. It translates into how they treat their customers and their internal focus that drives their decisions. While they say they care about customers, their actions speak louder than their words. This organization continues to find financial success and while that lasts, the organization will continue to take a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach. Once that starts to change, I don't believe the right people / talent are in place to address the financial downturn that is inevitably going to occur.
