Pros

There are almost no pros. Bonuses disappear after we were acquired and there are no overtime perks.

Cons

Always understaffed, work overtime for months on end, the management lies to staff, some staff get preferential treatment for no reason while others work extra hours and get no reconginiton or bonuses. Some staff is sexist and rude and management does nothing. There is no transparency and clients get to do whatever they want and abuse staff all the time.

Owned by Private Equity and It Shows

Pros

There are good people there. They ditched Anthem BC/BS to go with United Healthcare. Didn't know how good I had it with UHC until I used Anthem. It was probably a money thing but it's still better. In the dept. I work in, both the managers and the support people are supportive and team oriented (with a small number of glaring exceptions) but in the end, the senior managers are not in a position to deliver on things like comp, training, or workload.

Cons

It is fairly obvious that the private equity owners use reverse cost accounting. That is, they decide what profit margin they need to have and then work backward from there. So you can imagine what that does to headcount and comp, when personnel is one of you biggest cost categories. If you lose a few good people to competitors, so be it. The turnover is ridiculous. As others have indicated, training is literally non-existent, unless weird management development courses are your thing. But your chances of becoming management are very low. Zero substantive or procedural training of any kind. The pay and bonuses are way below industry norm. Lowest 401(k) match I've ever been associated with.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you found our teams helpful and supportive. HR does encourage the management team to complete trainings and we offer several specific managerial trainings as well. We have taken steps to address turnover rates specifically after the pandemic. This includes enhancing our recruitment process to ensure a better fit between candidates and our company culture, as well as providing ongoing support and professional development opportunities for our team members, stay interviews, roundtables, etc. Additionally, we conduct thorough exit interviews to gain deeper insight into the reasons behind departures, which has allowed us to implement meaningful changes that have improved associate satisfaction and retention. As far as growth goes, we have Career Pathing for each department and set/discuss personal work goals for all Year End Performance reviews. We appreciate the time you spent providing this feedback and if you should have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact HR@UltimusFundSolutions.com
