Poor and toxic management

Company has good reputation and cited as a Best Place to Work. Work was good and challenging.

Cons

Manager was condescending and not supportive. Very unrealistic expectations but provided no clear guidance. When asked what was needed to achieve the goal in mind, the answer was always "I Don't Know". Always very critical and never gave any positive feedback even if progress was being made without his much needed guidance. Hated being in the office and having meetings with this manager. Toxic environment.

The mission and culture used to be forefront

Cons

Ultragenyx used to stand with and form its employees and its patients. It had a mission we could all stand by. Unfortunately the mission stood strong but the execution did not. The company is rewarding savings at all costs, supporting senior leaders who discourage diversity of thought and background, those that rule by “Level One Leadership” and authoritarian rule rather than actual leadership. Rewarding senior leaders who tear their people down to build themselves up As we all know. People don’t leave bad jobs. They leave bad managers. Bad leaders.
