Pros

Great facilities like the Yumbra cafe and gym. They offer gift certs for suggestions, naming a product and being nominated for doing a good job.

Cons

Poor Poor management. They put people in charge who has no management skills and provide them with titles and wage increase for no apparent reason, only because they are liked. If you do not play the game and not suck up to the upper management, beware you will be fired.

Pros

Excellent place to be if you're good at sucking up. Or if you know how to play politics. Or if your aunt, uncle, or future father in-law is amongst the leadership team.

Cons

Design director is a good designer with terrible interpersonal and management skills. Just terrible. Sorry MC. CEO is too far down his path to truly be open to change. He's lost his spark. And the team around him knows it but just won't say it. Sorry LM. I've been at umbra for a while now, but it's simply not a fun place to be. It keeps some people. But mostly those who just don't know any better. Or designers who can't get jobs elsewhere. Umbra does a good job at looking good on paper. But like its products, it's falling apart from the inside.

Pros

Onsite cafe/gym, lots of parking, 3D printing and design all done in house in Scarborough location which is inspiring I guess.

Cons

People get fired all the time, high turnover, no-one likes working here. CEO yelled out to everyone 'money money money everyone loves money who wants money' during a company-wide draw - that was my cue to leave. Super cliquey. CEO yells in the hallways at employees all the time. Why are people getting fired so often for no reason?
