We’re sorry to hear that you are unhappy with Umialik as an employer. We take employee suggestions and comments very seriously, and we value the employees that work for us. Please know that although each position at Umialik is a full-time position with work volumes that support 80-hour pay periods, we are often able to allow employees to turn in their time cards with less than 80 hours if the situation warrants it. We encourage you to reach out to your supervisor or to Human Resources for additional information. Unfortunately, earlier this year was the exception to this rule when we found ourselves in a situation where we needed our staff to work overtime to meet customer service needs. Although mandatory overtime ended in early August, we understand that overtime pay does not always make up for the loss of personal time.
We also appreciate the opportunity to address the 2017 engagement survey. While we discussed the finalized survey and action items in the May 2018 quarterly results meeting, it sounds like we could have done a better job communicating the survey outcome. We’re happy to pass that information along. Please feel free to contact Umialik leadership for a copy of the points outlined in that meeting.
Thank you for taking the time to review Umialik. We want all of our employees to feel supported, and we’re always looking to improve. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your review/suggestions further, we’d welcome the opportunity to meet with you. Please reach out to our Human Resources Department by stopping by or emailing HRmail@wnins.com.
