      It's a stepping stone

      Pros

      Paid time off, but that is becoming less certain since they seem to change the time to accrue and use PTO without notice.

      Cons

      No respect from management. The management is completely incompetent and the president is an egomaniac. The environment is so much the opposite of student-centered, everyone jokes about the "Students are #1" motto. The union contract is basically an excuse to treat union employees like dirt and give crummy raises.

      colleagues not on a management level. rewarding interactions with students.

      Cons

      Poor leadership. Ego fest. low pay. nothing you do ever feels good enough. a lot of turnover.

      Pros

      Freedom to conduct the class as you want, not much over-site.

      Cons

      Can feel like you are alone, no real direction when teaching a new class, lack of communication from head of department or contact person for each class. Never know if you are teaching the following semester until the last minute (literally the day before). Can go an entire semester without talking to anyone unless you reach out. low pay
