Pros

If you hate yourself this is the job for you.

Cons

There is no stability in the job. They will hire you and furlough you the day they complete training. Upper management, there are no leaders at UP, hates train crews, refer to us as train trash. The current CEO takes absolutely zero responsibility for the current employee shortages that he created. It's not Covid Lance, it's you.

Pros

Challenging work with the opportunity to move around the country

Cons

Unrealistic work expectations and goals, cut throat management and peers. The only feedback given is constructive which creates a negative and hostile work environment.

Worst company to work for without a doubt

Pros

The pros get worse and worse each year. Pretty much the only pro i can even think of is the people you work with.

Cons

Pay is getting worse and worse and they are expecting more and more. The managers are clueless to what actually needs to happen to move or switch a car. The only thing anyone is concerned about is how to cut jobs and get more work done with less. It is a terrible toxic environment that gets worse everyday.
