Pros

There are none , nothing but lies and homework

Cons

They lied to us about our pay for training, saying $140 to $150 a day. When we started we were given all day class work and 4 to 5 hours a night of class work, and told we would only get $10 bucks an hour and only for the time in class which was 8 hours a day.

UP is an evil company

Pros

UP used to be a great company and has a neat history that impacted the economic prominence of the U.S. in the world.

Cons

UP treats its employees poorly and has adopted most every immoral practice of the woke age. I cannot recommend strongly enough that you choose to work elsewhere. If you are a white male, you will be discriminated against in order to meet the PUBLISHED gender and diversity goals. If you are of Asian descent, sorry, you don’t count as a minority at UP. UP is intentionally limiting relationships with Asian owned firms in favor of their preferred minority owned firms. Pay? Average to low depending on your role. Non-agreement will receive a “merit increase” each year, an intentionally deceptive “raise” that on average simply keeps up with inflation. For 2021, nearly all employees will receive a “merit increase” that is less than inflation meaning you will be losing money. In 2021, there was a string of 5 senior level firings of white men (and one white woman), 100% of which were filled by diversity picks. Employees are encouraged to violate 3000+ years of Judeo-Christian values and support the LGBT movement. They are encouraged to put their pronouns in their bios. Stating the obvious biological fact on PRIVATE social media that men cannot be women could result in firing per company policy. DO NOT WORK HERE. If you ualready work here, leave so that you will not be complicit in the actions of this evil company.

Pros

The pay is decent and you meet some good people working here.

Cons

There is no stability. The benefits are steadily eroding. Reduced headcount means more hours at work performing additional duties with increased pressure from supervisors to turn lead into gold. Steadily assets, equipment, manpower and infrastructure is being mothballed to keep stocks high resulting in increased pressure on existing work groups to maintain an industry with self inflicted mortal wounds. These people feel they own you once you are here. Your grandfather passed away? Sorry not covered under bereavement, better show up to work. Sick with COVID? Better burn up your vacation or collect unemployment. Kids are graduating? Cool, hope they enjoy the ceremony without you. You will most likely work every holiday, and for at least 20 years only have a weekend off when you take vacation. For 30+ years you are a piece of equipment. Once you accept that, you come to understand why this place does nothing to help the work life balance.
