Pros

This place taught me how to have patience with people. People being customers and co workers. Being that Uniqlo is immensely strict in their policies, it helped prepare me for any other job that I would be taking on in the future.

Cons

First off, I worked at the 5th avenue location where the most stuck up snobby people come to shop. Customers would come in with the worst attitudes acting as if we the employees were their servants. Its retail so that is expected. This is the real issue with this company. MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE!! Management in this company needs to be completely rebuilt from the ground up. My managers and supervisors were some of the most immature people I have ever met. Coming in to this job I was expected a mature environment due to how strict this company is with their policies. There was this specific manager who talked to her associates like they were her children. She would barely smile and always have a dirty look on her face. Ironic because one of the main things the company tells their associates is that they must always smile among other things. This company was so strict that they wanted us to remember these ridiculous six standard phrases that no employee really used towards customers. They also wanted us to stand a certain way. It's like we were all robots in this place. There is no tolerance for uniqueness in this place. You have to be a robot doing the same exact thing over and over. Now folding clothes shouldn't be a problem but it is in this store. They want you to fold clothes a certain way which was also ridiculous. Apart from management being totally messed up and the company wanting to turn its employees into robots, there is another problem. This place hires ANYONE with a working brain. This may be a pro if you want to make a quick buck however, there were soo many useless employees in this place. Most employees would complain about their tasks and were very lazy. This would cause people like myself to do their job for them. Horrible. This place reminded me of high school. I could go on about how working at this place sucks. I'm glad I left this factory of a retail store.

Great Brand But Stifling Corporate Culture

Pros

The brand itself is great because it offers high-quality clothes at a reasonable price. Also, the brand collaborates with some interesting and relevant designers. If you are just starting out in your career, this is a decent place to get some good experience, but don't linger for too long or you will burn out and become bitter.

Cons

Poor morale at the corporate office because hard-working individuals are not being recognized for the good work they do every day. Management seems to care more about hitting their numbers rather than developing their employee talent. No fun at office, very serious environment. Not a place to feel like you are making a real contribution to the company. Stereotypical corporate setting that makes you feel like a cog in a machine.
