Pros

Really easy to get a job as an associate in 2013 30% discount on all clothes, except promotional items located on 5th ave

Cons

Promotions have a DIRECT relation to favoritism. (if your absentee managers or their lesser paid stand-ins decide that they do not like you as a person you can find yourself blocked and neglected from any promotional tracks) Evaluations are supposed to be conducted every three months (4x a year). I worked there for two years and was only evaluated three times, two of which by new management. Management changes sporadically and without notice. Company states that they prefer to promote from within but pass over current employees for management programs constantly for fresh college graduates. Yes, they will choose someone that has never worked in retail over you any day of the week. Company states that hours are very limited because of lack of sales and yet company started to hire new employees. Until you make supervisor here be prepared to be treated like tissue paper, dispensable. You will be insulted, condescended to, and harassed by upper management. The human resource department consist of two people who sit in the same office with the other managers. They have also been spotted at parties with other managers and taking lunch breaks together, which does not foster the self given "neutral party" attitude they try to tell associates.
