Pros

-pay rate -fun staff (depending on area) -

Cons

Where do I begin? This company is constantly asking for way too much and expect way too much from their team. They promise that there will be opportunities to improve and develop skills, but they never make time to do so. Management plays favorites and never provides room for development of staff. The hours are low for the part-timers, but the workload always remains the same. The whole upper management team is composed of Japanese people that expect to have everything done, which is not realistic if hours are given to associates. Managers at my location are too friendly with one another and make it feel uncomfortable when working. Whenever I personally work, they dump all types of things on me and sit in the office the whole day. You constantly feel watched at this place which causes too much stress for retail. Some people in this company talk to you in a very degrading and disrespectful way. I can't wait until I quit.

Pros

1. FREE MONEY: most of the time people just spend the entire shift talking with co workers while getting paid 2. Discount: I would say the discount is a pro only because, eh, it's a discount 3. If you're Asian, you're guaranteed a promotion ( no really, look at the statistics!)

Cons

Negative working environment! This is a place for grown adults who act as though they are still in high school, UNIQLO has cliques! If you're not up for drinking every closing shift then you're not a part of the 'cool' gang. This is a place with no boundaries, everyone sleeps with each other, supervisors flirts with veterans and so forth, it's basically a mating ground for people who are stuck with each other for 8 hours a day, eventually they will have the need to reproduce, human nature, right? Even when you work hard, once you REFUSE to kiss up to the higher up, you will not be promoted! Supervisors write you up for rules they wont even follow themselves, but y'know, it's totally cool Since there are levels for employees (A1, A2, A3 and AA), those who are higher think it's best to do nothing while bossing the new people around because they get paid a dollar more, so it obviously makes them better than everyone else, duh! Most of the time, supervisors are not college educated so their skills are often bad, though it is based off of experience, they often lack management skills which is severely important. The store acts cheap even though it makes somewhat a good amount of money. You are not treated like a human being, they are often questioning your motives, there is no trust between the higher ups and veterans. Since the turn over rate is so high, HR employs new people every 2-3 months, the store is constantly filled with new employers who are not poorly trained, making the work difficult for veterans. If you do not make goal, supervisors will blame you for poor performance instead of taking a good look at their terrible management skills. You have to wear black all time with a stupid red tag because the store does not want individualization, they just want your hands and feet working, not your brain (imagination or creativity) Major favoritism, if you kiss up to the person making the DWS, chances are they will put you to work with their friends. It is not possible to have a life outside of this store, your coworkers become your friends, even if you don't like them, you'll eventually have to settle. The store orders a high amount of the same clothes that customers will never buy then wonders why it's not selling. It's a cult, if you're ever selected for morning shifts, you'll see what I mean IF YOU'RE A GIRL working at this store (especially if you're an Asian), guys will be all over you because they are desperate. CUSTOMERS are sometimes mean because most of them are tourists and will not see you as anything important, but that's for most retail. AND LASTLY (but not really, my fingers are getting tired) EVERYONE HATES IT THERE, LITERALLY, EVERYONE! But no one ever leaves because UNIQLO makes you believe that there is nothing better out there for their employees. TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO LEFT, THE WORLD OFFERS 10000000 MUCH MORE THAN WHAT UNIQLO HAS TO OFFER
