Pros

Flexible Schedule. Great Pay and Benefits. Can commute to work from any city. I had some great supervisors when Based in Chicago. Very kind and wanted to see you succeed.

Cons

Commuting can make the job more stressful. Have to make sure that the flight loads accommodate a commuter's schedule. The customer service agents are very rude in most cases. When based in LAX and DEN the supervisors were terrible and were looking to get rid of you. It all depends on where you are based.

Pros

Flight Benefits..Health insurance..ok pay after 10 years

Cons

Continental never needed a union..It was a Company that treated employees with dignity and respect..Since the merger and union it is management and employees against each other. A company will never succeed with this type of culture..It is hard to provide great customer service with the product that is provided..the planes are old ...every other flight is a mechanical delay or cancelled or no crew.A company will not succeed with this type of product..

Pros

Good work/life balance. 40 hour work weeks are the norm for most salaried positions. Flight benefits are nice as long as your travel plans are very flexible. Pockets of good talent.

Cons

Pay is lower compared to other companies for similar roles and experience. All about supply and demand. There are a lot of people that want to work for United, and are willing to do so at a lower pay rate, and United knows that. Flight benefits are considered a form of financial compensation, and also a reason for lower salaries. United operates on a very thin margin, with expenses much higher than competitors. So when numbers don't come in good, reductions in force occur much too frequently. Recent reductions seem to be targeted at their older workforce, so they are losing a lot of wisdom and business knowledge. The remaining 20-somethings have been promoted to management levels, but have no clue on how to manage people or a business.
