Pros

Having survived the last years of Frank Lorenzo... Gordon Bethune brought us back from the edge of extinction. Along with normal airline benefits, CO empowers employees to perform above and beyond. Great comeraderie and fun place to work. Wonderful to have good leadership (unlike Lorenzo!). Honest ethical leadership and motivated employees = a successful company and good customer service. Thanks for the memories!!

Cons

Dreading the United merger... afraid our happy and successful corporate culture will be destroyed by a corporate culture of distrust, discontent, and beauracracy.

Pros

Best reason to work for United include, in no particular order, travel benefits, changed to 401k match, people are great, and feel leadership did well to communicate during tough times.

Cons

The downsides of working for United were primarily a function of the economic times. Obviously, layoffs, pay reductions, beneft reductions are considered "downsides", but I feel those items appeared through the very difficult times the industry as a whole endured.

Pros

Flight benefits Good people Airline travel is fun!

Cons

Lack of training Training Coordinators were not helpful, they insult you when you need help! Supervisors show no regard to the employees and look for ways to fire you for the little mistakes that can be corrected! When you're fired they humiliate you!
