Pros

Its one of the higher paying residencies. The cost of living is relatively low - especially if you get the hospital housing

Cons

it is a smaller hospital in a poor area. You will see various pathology. Residency is usually rigid in terms of changes. Its largely resident run and the attendings are a little clueless sometimes as to how everything works and rules we have

Slightly above minimum wage pay, opportunity to transfer or advance, tuition assistance, benefits to full time employees, credit union

Cons

Hiring process is long, training stinks, communication stinks, schedules stink, no paid holidays-you have to use your own earned paid time off to get a paid holiday. Benefits are super expensive and you can only use UHS doctors-with the pay barely above minimum wage the fees for the medical coverage for a family (4+ people) are over $500 a month-if you're a single parent there's no way to afford that and pay your normal bills

Somewhat flexible hours, PTO is nice.

Cons

Long hours, management does not listen to concerns, terrible work-life balance, my department was constantly short staffed, a very long hiring process and a low starting salary.
