Pros

Nice company vehicle, that you pay for

Cons

Good old boy network. Had a new sales manager come in and I knew I'd be fired within 4 months...took 3. Don't get old and old is 48.

Territory Manager

Business Outlook

Pros

As a territory manager you have a lot of freedom to create your own work week. You have high goals to meet each month but you set the pace. They provide a company vehicle, company credit card and cell phone. Lots of opportunity for vertical growth

Cons

Make you sign a non-compete. Micro-management using Salesforce is excessive. Constantly changing focus on what they want you to sell. Too much work - not enough money because they keep shrinking your territory

Pros

Large company that has great healthcare and a focus on the customer and safety. Nationwide so the are plenty of opportunities from coast to coast at all levels of experience.

Cons

Sales to be a focus for upward mobility, without time as a salesperson the climbing of the corporate ladder is limited. Also while being part of a large company can be a pro, the con is you're more of a number.
