Pros

Good place to get experience. If you are willing and able, you will be doing some very satisfying work. They are also very accommodating about giving time off for personal reasons.

Cons

They are extremely cheap. They will let their most experienced engineers walk out the door for higher paying jobs to be replaced by people with little or no experience. Can be a good place for the less than average to hide. They are so desperate to keep people that they will allow some people to get away with some of the most outrageous behavior you will ever see in a workplace.

Pros

Job security, ability to interact with several team members. Salary was poor but a retention bonus is not being offered. Work is interesting, but may be disappearing when shuttle is permanently grounded.

Cons

Very bad and lazy team members. There are employees that have an easier time disappearing for hours then getting work done. Very incompetent. There main strategy is to make you look bad or are afraid that new people will somehow get them fired.

Pros

Location: Being able to look outside my window and see the Vehicle Assembly Building and numerous shuttle and rocket launch pads is amazing, and it provides the feeling that one is helping make history. People: It's great to be able to learn from people who have devoted most of their professional lives to the US space industry. Everyone I've met is willing to take some time to answer questions for provide some guidance. Compensation: USA provides a great benefits package, especially compared to competitors in the area.

Cons

The livelyhood of the US manned space program is somewhat volatile, so there are periods when an employee's, or an entire company's, future is less than clear.
