Pros

Making a difference living united to help the 55+ market find employment. We have 75 on my project's payroll and six others have found permanent jobs with benefits! Also, this job has enhanced my administrative skills including advanced excel and QuickBooks.

Cons

The pay rate is so low, especially for my skill level and MBA in Accounting. I am paid through a federal government grant and the position is limited to four years, and I cannot have wages from another job at the same time.

Pros

United Way has a good mission in empowering people to participate in their families and community. The organization has targeted areas of service which gives it more focus than it had traditionally.

Cons

Like in many nonprofits, if you want to earn a big salary you shouldn't be working here. Nonprofits need to keep overhead low so donated funds go to services.
